Unemployment rate holds

The unemployment rate held at an 11 year low for the period June to August according to the Office for National Statistics. “These figures show that employment continued to grow over the summer and vacancies remain at high levels, suggesting continuing confidence in the economy,” the ONS said.

Iain Lock MD of Q&A Law said “With the value of the pound dropping this is some welcome good news for business confidence and the economy generally. However, I would expect to see the economy and unemployment rates to fluctuate over the next couple of years until we understand what Brexit means and how this will impact on businesses.”
